Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini accuses Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid players of bribing referee Michael Oliver

Share:
Giorgio Chiellini accused Real Madrid’s players of ‘paying’ referee Michael Oliver during Juventus’ Champions League exit at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Italian champions were looking to overturn a 3-0 defeat from the first leg in Turin and got off to a flying start as Mario Mandzukic struck twice in the first half.

Blaise Matuidi found the net in the second half to level the tie and it appeared to be heading to extra time before Mehdi Benatia fouled Lucas Vazquez inside Juve’s area.

Juventus players were furious with Michael Oliver’s decision and Gianluigi Buffon was sent off for his angry protests towards the Premier League  official.
Cristiano Ronaldo stepped up to convert the penalty and book Madrid’s place in Friday’s Champions League semi-final draw.

Chiellini was incensed by Oliver’s penalty decision and television replays caught the Juventus defender making a money gesture towards Madrid’s players and saying ‘you pay, you pay’.

The veteran Italian defender also got in Ronaldo’s face with a similar gesture just before he took Madrid’s penalty.
